If you are engaging a professional resume writer you are stepping into that writer’s collaborative process. Every writer is different, but this is the process I have developed after writing more than 2,000 resumes and other career documents since 2003.

YOU: You engage me with a signed service agreement and payment.
ME: I will send you prep material for you to complete, including a proprietary questionnaire.
YOU: You will send me the completed material so I can write the 1st draft.
ME: I will send the 1st draft resume for your review.
YOU: You will return your comments and edits.
ME: I will incorporate your comments into a 2nd draft.
TOGETHER: We will have a Zoom screen share call to teach you how to use the resume as a master document. We will also make sure the resume positions you the way you want.
ME: I will send the draft to my proofreader. We have worked together for a long time. She is also a resume writer.
ME: I will incorporate her comments and send it back to you for approval as a master resume in both Word and PDF versions.
YOU: You will sign off that the resume project is complete.

Why do I have such a structured writing process?
- This process will double up as interview preparation because you will have a better idea about what to say about who you are and what you have to offer.
- I have had many people tell me this is the most they have ever reviewed in their career.
- Everyone has more confidence in themselves after going through this process.
If you would like to discuss your resume (or even if you don’t have one), there is no charge for a consultation. Click this link to my scheduler. I look forward to speaking.
