I had a very strange experience one time. I had gone shopping at a large mall and put some things in the trunk, but I didn’t know that I didn’t shut it all the way.
I was aware of a crazy guy screaming on the sidewalk when I drove into the parking lot. I had no intention of interacting with him.
Then when I was waiting at a red light to leave the parking lot, he was still there. I locked my door because he made me uncomfortable, and I didn’t want to be carjacked.
But then I had no idea that he noticed the trunk was open, jumped in, pulled the lid down, and locked himself in! What!!??
Someone started yelling at me and pounding on my driver’s side window. I had absolutely no idea why.
I got out of the car, and that person shouted at me to open up the trunk. When I did that, he yelled at the crazy guy in the trunk, “Hey dude, what are you doing in there?” The crazy guy crawled out of the trunk and ran down the street.
I just drove away and was a little shaken up. It was a funny experience but could have become dangerous.
So why do I tell this story?
Nothing esoteric or fancy: Every person I have told this story to has laughed! So I hope this just gave you the best laugh of your day.
