When have family obligations become more of a priority in your life compared to your job? Has it been a short-term situation or a long-term situation?

My husband is 77 and recently had a heart attack. Calling 911 because he was having trouble breathing instantly shifted what was important to me. Two weeks in the hospital and a couple of other trips to the ER have made it clear that this is not a one-time situation.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GIVE MYSELF GRACE SO I CAN SLOW DOWN AND PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF CURTIS.
I’M GIVING MYSELF GRACE AND PERMISSION to focus on him without closing my business as a resume writer and a coach. THIS IS THE FOUNDATION OF WHAT I NEED TO DO. I need to be realistic and accept that I can’t do everything.

I SIMPLIFIED MY CALENDAR by removing non-essential events such as book club meetings.
Also, I HAVE BEEN ASKING FRIENDS and FAMILY for help. People always say “Let me know if I can do anything.” I am taking them up on that offer. My sister-in-law came from out of town for a week. She did things such as grocery shopping and taking the dog to the veterinarian. It was wonderful.
